A one of a kind architectural masterpiece that draws visitors from near and far. Children love the novelty of this sight. A genuine landmark and Ilkeston institution.
Brilliant architecture, design and practicality. The hole has no bounds, one minute you’re crawling through it, the next you’re on the other side. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting this landmark. We’re well travelled, but this one has topped them all with its interactive and charismatic design. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area. As a bonus we also used the cash machine. Natwest really are at the forefront of banking and art, so it would seem.

Strutt's North Mill played a vital role in the UK's Industrial Revolution and is of architectural and historic importance. It is one of a chain of mills that form part of UNESCO's Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage site. Our knowledgeable guides will take you on a tour of the mill and explain more about its social, historic and industrial background.
We booked in last minute and are really glad we did. The museum is only open Friday to Sunday at the moment for guided tours. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and really helped us understand the part the cotton industry played in the history and growth of Belper. There is a small gift shop with a decent range of books themed towards mills and Derbyshire. Well worth visiting this mostly volunteer run museum.

North Street is the earliest piece of planned industrial housing in the world. Surrounded by countryside, it is at the heart of a designated World Heritage Site. It is available to book for short self catering breaks through the Landmark Trust.

I only live in Ashbourne and have failed miserably as never been here before, I saw the event on Facebook and thought I’d come along as it was a lovely sunny day, Car parking was in the field opposite and was free, the car park staff very friendly and helpful, Short walk over the road and signs to say don’t cue if you were there for the egg hunt, I can’t believe how many families wee there, the atmosphere was buzzing! My daughter loved finding the animals and baby names, along with attempting to draw a photo. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and she enjoyed playing in the wooded park, On completion was sat in the sunshine with an ice cream ???? Didn’t have time to visit the house or museum on this occasion but we will be back!

Stayed here the 2nd night of opening and it didn’t disappoint. The building has been renovated to an excellent standard and the rooms are fabulous. The newly built spa/restaurant are in keeping and complement the building and hotel facilities. Our evening dinner in the restaurant was delicious with good service. Breakfast service wasn’t quite there but given it was day 3 of opening it was understandable. For any hotel opening up in a Covid 19 scenario it is incredibly difficult and the bar closing at 10pm was in line with current Covid 19 rules. Unfortunately we didn’t get chance to fully experience the beautiful spa pools/saunas because these are only accessible between check in and check out, but we did have mud bath treatment which was a new treatment we haven’t tried previously and would recommend.
