The second-largest island in Mediterranean after Sicily, Sardinia serves up a lovely blend of sea, sand and history. Thousands of nuraghe (stone buildings) dot the landscape, proof that people have been enjoying the lovely climate here for millennia. From posh Costa Smerelda in the north to medieval Alghero in the northwest to the lively capital of Cagliari in the south, and with many picturesque towns and unspoiled sandy beaches in between, Sardinia’s got a little something for everyone.

We had so much fun on this wine tour, recommended to us by a work colleague from Cagliari. Our guide Franco spoke excellent English, collected us from our hotel and showed us a great time. This really is a beautiful island. The wine was delicious as were the local accompanying cheeses, salami and bread. Bought three bottles to take home with us! Enjoyed meeting Giuseppe and being shown around his wine estate, he was a fantastic host. Would definitely recommend this tour!

With its 44,000 inhabitants, it is the 5th largest city of Sardinia. Alghero is the island's main harbor, home to Fertilia airport and one of its best-loved cities walkway along the port's bastions, the red roofs that touch into the emerald sea. The shoreline is some 90 km long and known as the Coral Riviera. The most famous beach here is Le Bombarde, it is a favorite destination for families, young people and surfing enthusiasts.
Inclusions: Pick Up
Exclusions: the tickets to the caves of Neptune, 8 euros, the ferry if you want to go there from Alghero, 16 euros
Matteo conducted this tour for myself and another solo traveller. It was very interesting and Matteo is very knowledgeable and was flexible to suit the types of things we wanted to see on this tour. Matteo spoke English very well and also injected plenty of humour into his dialogue! We finished the day at a fantastic agroturismo restaurant and Matteo was able to describe the dishes and local customs to us. We had a great day and wouldn't hesitate to recommend both Matteo and the tour!

Let's enjoy together the atmosphere of this city in the middle of the Mediterranean and live an incessant flow of unforgettable experiences. It takes little time to feel at home in Cagliari. Those who have already been here always want to return, to take a stroll in the old neighbourhoods amidst flowered balconies and parks where strawberries, lavender and peaches grow. Throughout history, different peoples arrived by sea and conquered the city before defending it themselves afterwards, only to surrender once again to new arrivals. The narrow streets of the old city always open up onto wonderful terraces where we can admire views over beaches and long stretches of water where thousands of pink flamingos wait for the sun to set before gliding over rooftops to astonish those who turn their heads up. The restaurants overlook small squares and keep intact the traditions of Sardinian cuisine. Cagliari is this and more, an ideal place where culture, sounds, flavours and aromas blend together.

Corona virus changed our travel plans and we ended up visiting Sardinia for the first time. Taking a couple of days in Cagliari was a great idea as the city is steeped in history with lots of interesting facts of historical importance. Emanuel knew all these things and brought us on a tour of his city with passion and pride. He introduced us to some of the local delicacies too and gave us great hints and tips for local restaurants and places to visit. He was knowledgable, friendly and very mindful of the social distancing measures that needed to be in pace for our tour to take place safely. He gave us some great tips for on stay in Putzu Idu (along the western coast) that did not disappoint! And finally he brought us to a fantastic local shop - Sapozi De Sardegna - for a wine and cheese sampling.....we went back a few times afterwards as the food was just amazing!

We initially were debating whether to do this as €85 per head was cutting into our budget a little but we were very glad we did and it ended up being incredibly good value for money. Fabio, our tour guide, went above and beyond to make sure we all had a great time. We learnt a lot and he even went out his way to make sure any questions we had were answered correctly if he wasn't too sure of the answer. Fabio had a great sense of humour and entertained our jokes as a group of young lads on holiday. The wine, oil and cheese were all phenomenal and by the end of the tour we were stuffed. We were given plenty of time to relax, eat and talk with the other guests on the tour. It was interesting as we had visited one of the stops for dinner the night before and got to see behind the scenes of how our food was produced - everything organic and free range. Thank you Fabio for an amazing tour and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Alghero.

All over the island there are more than 7000 nuraghes, singular and peculiar buildings. Megalithic fortress built with enormous stones and with a particular charm. Looking at them means have a lot of questions which they deserve to be answered. Who built them? What was their function? If you want to discover with us more about those remarkable fortresses, Su Nuraxi of Barumini is a must-see. Part of the UNESCO Heritage since 1997, this nuraghe is the best example to understand the most ancient and mysterious history of Sardinia. After a visit to Su Nuraxi, we will also reach Casa Zapata, a noble ancient residence of the Sardinian-Aragonese barons, nowadays hosting a small Archaeological Museum.
