Any visit to Bogota should include a visit to the Salt Cathedral with this company! Cindy was outstanding and a gracious host! Pedro was a fantastic driver and the two of them made this visit to Bogota magical! Cindy’s knowledge and love for her country was evident and I was treated like royalty throughout the entire tour. The cathedral was such an incredible and interesting place to see as was the town of Zipacuira. Stunning architecture, wonderful people! Please take the time to visit!

At the agreed time, a member of our staff will meet you at the hotel to take you through the Bogota´s Savanna to the nearby town of Nemocón, a quite village with colonial architecture. You´ll visit it´s salt mine descending to 80 meters underground. There, you´ll appreciate the 28 mirrors of brine, in which rocks of salt were dissolved producing an impressive optical effect. In addition, you´ll find a stone of 1,300 Kg symbolizing the world, a salt´s crystal of 1,600 Kg. carved in the shape of a heart by the artist Miguel Sanchez and some stalactites and stalagmites. The tour continues to the town of Zipaquira where you´ll have a stop to enjoy a delicious typical lunch. After the lunchtime, we´ll take you to the Salt Cathedral. The Cathedral was built in an underground salt deposit at 180 mtrs below the surface where a Chapel is. This enclosure is considered the first wonder of Colombia and an architectonic jewel of the modernity. Return to Bogota.

The tour operator did not turn up. Their explanation for not picking us up was that we booked over the weekend for a Monday morning tour‽ Considering we booked on the Saturday this shouldn’t have been a problem, especially as Trip Adviser sent confirmation. They did offer to take us the next day but considering we were leaving that day this wasn’t possible. We ended up taking an Uber there which ended up being cheaper and quite ok. They did process the refund promptly.

This is undoubtedly one of the best combinations of tourist attractions near Bogotá; the day begins with a visit to the Guatavita Lake, famous for being the place where the Muiscas performed the ritual that gave rise to the legend of El Dorado; this place possesses an overwhelming beauty that can only be understood when visiting it. Then, cross the savannah to reach the municipality of Zipaquirá; you will know the First Wonder of Colombia, the Salt Cathedral, one of those places that you will not want to miss when coming to Colombia. Our Travel agency is certified with Covid Protocols and has Check In and Safe Travels Stamp. Drivers, guides and attractions visited are also checked before and during the tour. ** At the moment (2021+) Guatavita doesn't have guides in English, you can take the tour in Spanish.

Daniel, the guide, is knowledgeable. He hosted a tour of Communa 13 using a historic and ethnographic lens to illustrate socioeconomic evolutions. It was a deep education of a district I would have otherwise never had the opportunity to become acquainted
