Chandragiri Hill, seven kilometres from Thankot, lies on the South-West of Kathmandu Valley and is 2551 metres from sea level. This hill is connected with both Buddhist and Hindu religions. It is connected with the unification of Nepal by King Prithvi Narayan Shah as it is the historic trade route passing through Kulekhani, Chitlang, Chandragiri Pass, Thankot and inside kathmandu . The Bhaleshore Mahadev temple of Lord Shiva is on top of the hill. The top of the hill provides scenic views of soaring peaks from different mountain ranges like Annapurna, Everest, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Jugal, Rolwaling, and Numbur of the Himalayan range of eastern Nepal and breathe taking views of whole Kathmandu Valley. Covered with lush green blanket of flora, Chandragiri is truly a great bountiful and pristine landscape. We had a wonderful experience with Himalayan Social Journey. They were extremely helpful in helping us organize our visit and visas for Nepal. Our wonderful driver Dilip was waiting for us at the airport upon arrival to bring us to the accommodations they had organized for us. We did a lovely day tour of Kathmandu and enjoyed our tour guide Dip very much. The Everest plane tour was everything we could have dreamed of and more. Every part of our journey was seamless and pleasant thanks to Himalayan Social Journey and their wonderful employees. They were even kind enough to organize a covid test for us after the tour before our return home. Everyone made us feel welcome and at home. Nepal is truly a unique and wonderful country and their hospitality was touching. We can not wait to return for another tour.

Kirtipur, located on a hill to the southwest of central Kathmandu is one of several ancient kingdoms in the Kathmandu Valley that were once independent, but now make up part of greater Kathmandu. Kirtipur is thought to be one of the oldest settlements in the valley. It’s a prime destination to learn about the Newar people, who are one of Nepal’s many distinct ethnic groups and the original inhabitants of the Kathmandu Valley. Come to Kirtipur for exquisite architecture, hilltop temples, and sweeping city views. Wandering around its winding streets feels like walking through a traditional Nepali village, yet Kirtipur offers some of the finest views of sprawling Kathmandu and the hills and mountains beyond. It’s full of cobblestone streets, old brick houses with elaborately carved door and window frames, and multitiered pagodas. Many travelers don’t visit Kirtipur as part of Kathmandu trip, yet it’s worth visiting.
Inclusions: Private transfer, All entrance fees, Newari Lunch, Guide fee
Exclusions: Tips, Anything not mentioned in the itinerary
