Antykwarnia..REVIEW …I could write a book! Right now my toes are tapping to ‘’Mack the Knife” by Bobby Darin. I’m enjoying the music while sitting next to an antique typewriter in Antykwarnia..My favorite dreamy place in Lodz, Poland. I’m surrounded by my favorite things- old and new books, I found a few jazzy albums and a ring watch! As many know by experience that once you find such a special place you return as often as possible. The experience is rich. I think for the history buffs, they would say that every book and special antique has found its perfect setting—well loved. My heart echoes the same. There’s the cutest British looking bear perched on the windowsill overlooking the peaceful garden. As my Irish friend would say, ‘’easy on the eyes’’. And as my Dutch friends would describe,’’Gezellig’’..Antykwarnia is nothing less than ‘gezellig’. (cozy, quaint, time well spent with loved ones, seeing a friend after a long absence, or general togetherness.”) I may be far from home but you wouldn’t know it! I have found new friends that have become like family. Last week I said, ‘this music makes me want to Dance’, and so we did! I don’t speak Polish but there’s a section for other languages and I have found a few special books in English on the history of Lodz that I’ve been looking for. I have spent a few years in New York looking for the perfect antique watch with a certain larger face and resisted many nice ones–I believe the one I’ve been trying on this afternoon will be the one. I have been working on my start-up cafe|market|lounge and something here has resonated with my own vision. It’s the heart behind everything. To say I recommend Antykwarnia to the book-antique-music lover is an understatement. I will be back and look forward to more experiences inside these beautifully appointed walls.
