Went there with a friend, it's a gentle walk to the temple, tree lined road history says the monk that build it prayed for something to happen to move the heavy tree trunks from the forest to the area. A rain followed the place closed and the trunks were used to build the temple. This place has everything, temples, monks, history, a big pagoda, an ancient tree, 2 lakes with huge fish living in it, and an original temple of 1700 years old which is hidden in the forest. Local hawkers for street food which is great, and shopping stalls including a couple selling 100% local pure honey!

This residence is just incredible, and I have seen a number of them thoughout China. The mix between traditional chinese architecture and late 19th century european one, with the blue glass windows and the incredible chinese garden makes this place one of the absolute must see attractions in Hangzhou. It's also very close to Hefang Street and the City God Temple, so it makes for a good day tour :)
