As the first place in Spain to see the sunrise, Minorca is like the country’s ambassador to the morning. Beaches here are beautiful and, surprisingly, relatively empty. The jewel-colored water is a magnet for waterskiers, windsurfers and sailors. Playa De Binigaus beach is perfect for families, while Cala Mitjana is an idyllic spot for romance. Head to the town of Alaoir to nibble on some fresh local cheese or turn back time in the charming fishing village of Fornells.

Staff nice, hotel room good, all inclusive food was good with plenty of choice. Very clean place. Very scenic. Beautiful sandy bay beach. Easy access to buses. However be aware this area is very quiet with only a few bars and restaurants. Very hilly, with lots of steps to the beach. If you are a smoker there are very limited places to buy cigarettes - two vending machines in two bars which only open late in the day and machines may be empty. Can’t smoke in the externally bar areas apart from specified zones. Cigarettes Cheap if bought at tobacco shops in main towns. Two bottles water in rooms, keep your bottles and refill at the bar. Tea and coffee not refilled in rooms. Hilly with lots of inclines and steps to be aware of if you struggle with that. Be aware you will be charged tourist taxes in Spain and on arrival we were charged 47 euros for a couple - ask TUI to be clear as they are generally not. A few general small supermarkets and two small souvenir shops in the area. Get the bus to to town. Taxis can be very expensive and a long wait if booked by hotel. Bring your own insect repellent as you may get bitten a lot. If you like to drink known brands you can upgrade to yellow bands for 14 euros each per day, but must all upgrade (2 people, 2 upgrades 28 euros per day). Very quiet in the hotel at the evening, entertainment provided for kids and adults. All in all a nice very very quiet, and relaxing holiday with lots of friendly and talkative people around the hotel and pool

Beautiful studio, immaculate in every respect, perfect location. Would stay again and quite happily recommend. Location is ideal for beach and the local bars and resturants. We only stayed a couple of nights here but would perhaps stay longer in the future.

During the winter of 2009, the Hotel Playa Azul has undergone a full refurbishment including a brand new, fabulous, outdoor swimming pool, overlooking stunning views of the bay and stylish, contemporary guest rooms. Popular with both families and couples this is a great choice for a relaxing holiday. In a privileged position on a hilltop, overlooking the rocky headland and sea is the Hotel Playa Azul. Just 200 metres away from the sandy beach, which is down a set of steep steps, the panoramic views are amazing. Located near to the commercial centre, the local shops, bars, restaurants and nightlife of Cala’n Porter are all within walking distance of the hotel, and downtown Mahon is just a short bus ride away.

The recently renovated rooms with modern and elegant décor are characterised by their brightness, with light and fresh colours. 7 outdoor swimming pools and one children’s pool. We also have a pool for guests seeking that extra bit of peace and quiet. Buffet offering two show-cooking stations. Lounge Bar & Snack Bar-Restaurant. Varied evening entertainment programme with musicals by our in-house production team, plus new shows.
I am currently at the sol falco with young children (under 2). The swimming pools are great and very clean. The splash pool is brilliant for young children as it’s very shallow, however I think it is very dangerous as it’s right next to a deep pool where even a tall adult couldn’t touch the floor. This was not advertised properly, it was made to look as if only a shallow splash pool which is ideal, however that is not the case. With young children who are constantly on the move this was bit of a shock initially. Arm bands and life jackets to be worn. The rooms are very clean and tidy- fresh towels every day. The air con is touch and go sometimes very cool sometimes feels like it isn’t on. The food is terrible. The food is always freezing cold. Even the cooking station where pasta is cooked infront of you, it isn’t cooked for long enough and is stone cold. Having two under 2 there isn’t much to cater for the little ones. During a 10 night stay chips were only served once and were gone very quickly. Most people complain about the food and have to eat out which is sad considering they have paid for all inclusive. Overall I think something needs to be done about the awful food, otherwise you are going to lose a lot of custom.

What a great bargain this was. The apartment was spotlessly clean, the staff were incredibly helpful. A great location only a few hundred yards from the beach. We would definitely use this place again. Nothing but good things to say about them.

Stayed here as part of a 3 generation family holiday and had a wonderful time. The hotel is friendly, comfortable and very clean - there are always people doing something to maintain the grounds. The two pools are nice, with shallow areas in both for the kids, and we always managed to get sunbeds from mid afternoon after a day out and about. The staff are all very efficient and wonderfully friendly and English is spoken by the majority (not that I'm ignorant enough to expect it). The food is buffet style, with fresh cooked eggs and pancakes for breakfast and fresh pasta and fish in an evening, along with a daily special. Even the vegetarian in our party had a different meal each day. The only slight disappointment was the lack of variety in the Froggi kids club, which seems to be limited to a room with games and craft equipment (plus the obligatory Mini Disco at night). It's ok, but compared to the club at the sister La Dorada hotel in Majorca we'd hoped for more. Will definitely be back when we return to Menorca.

Enjoyable holiday with family, from start to finish. Flying from East Midlands was completely stress-free. Our bags were available as we passed through the Covid passport check; into the arrivals hall where our transfer driver was waiting. Our rooms were located on the top floor, light and airy, very clean and tidy, A fantastic view of the sea and main pool area, and even Majorca in the distance. I found the bed very comfortable, lovely pillows which were just right for me, so sleeping was easy. The food was excellent, something for everyone. Have to say that the sweet selection was not sparkling; mega-disappointed that I didn't get flan. Breakfasts were outstanding, and the oranges, so juicy.... Pool area and main pool was clean and tidy, and very peaceful. We never had a problem finding sunbeds for our party of 6. The main lifeguard was extremely fastidious and attentive to any minor indiscretion to the rules. We were slightly surprised to find the pool closing at 6.0pm when advertised to close at 8.0pm Proximity to the beach is a big plus, although it was quite busy at times. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful, as were all the staff, restaurant and reception alike. The cleaners were brilliant, rooms cleaned to a high standard, and the provision of red towels for the pool was a genius idea. All too soon, our friendly mini-bus driver was at the hotel lobby waiting to take us back to Mahon airport, for a very smooth return home. Highly recommended.

All rooms very well appointed and cleaned daily. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. We had the buffet meal on our last night and food was excellent as was the breakfast. Much better than some of 5 star hotels I have stayed in.

There are a series of mixed reviews on here which just proves we all have different standards and tastes. We booked this literally two weeks before we flew and it was just going to be a relaxing break for us as we had got back from a family holiday in Turkey 3 weeks prior. We knew before we flew there was nothing around the hotel however there is a bus and a land train that you can use to visit other towns and cities if you want more shops, restaurants, markets etc. We were happy to stay in the hotel and drink and just chill out. We ate in the restaurant for every meal and we never went hungry there was always a wide variety of foods on offer that should cover everyone's tastes. I even heard the hotel manager showing a family the buffet and clearly one of them had allergies and he was saying what they could and couldn't eat. Food can be a bit repetitive but lets be honest at home we all tend to repeat the same meals lol. Hotel was spotlessly clean and there were always cleaners busy at work to include pool cleaners who were always there very early ensuring the pool was ready for that day. The rooms were spacious however I personally found the bed and the pillow uncomfortable but that's only personal preference. The bathroom is an adequate size the shower is not small its slightly bigger than most standard shower cubicals in the UK I think the issue is its close to the sink and can be a bit tight getting in and out. Waterpark and pool were brilliant and we spent almost every day in the waterpark. Never had any issue finding sunbeds in the waterpark there are plenty all round the park. The sunbeds in the hotel there are plenty however people were securing them at around 7.30-8.00 please don't fret though there was still plenty available at around 10am. A little tip for those with kids and delicate feet take beach shoes to the waterpark the floor is not nice to walk on from the bottom of the slides to the top. They sell them ion the shop on site but cheaper to take your own and the staff have no problems with you wearing them on the slides. All in all was perfect to relax and would suit families or those that just want to chill out anyone looking for a party place this will not be for you.
