Veligandu Island Resort, surrounded by a beautiful lagoon, an excellent house reef and long stretches of white, sandy beach, is the only resort on the island of Veligandu, North Ari Atoll. It is 600 meters long by 150 meters wide, about 22 acres. Your seaplane transfer from Velana International Airport is a scenic, 20 minute flight. The 91 rooms include 54 Jacuzzi Water Villas, 10 Water Villas, 16 Jacuzzi Beach Villas and 11 Beach Villas. Veligandu will accommodate guests of all ages in the Beach Villas & Jacuzzi Beach Villas and only guests of age 12 years and above in Water Villas & Jacuzzi Water Villas.
Our 4th visit to Veligandu and we were not disappointed. The sunset jacuzzi water villa was fabulous with breath taking views of the ocean and the house reef was super - so many beautifully coloured fish - we even saw 2 turtles and reef sharks with a spectacular Ray to be found around the water villa itself. The staff were lovely - special mentions to Suresh (always smiling while cooking great omelettes ) Abdullah.H (great waiter ) Naeem (really looked after us in the restaurant ) Hussain (always available on WhatsApp ) and Mahamoud (super villa attendant - always cleaned to a very high standard) lovely to see the GM Fathuhulla again who always had time for a chat. Lovely food and great service - just a few of suggestions for improvement… our wait for the seaplane was 2 and a half hours - 8 of us had to wait for 2 more people on a later international flight - this could be better organised . The house wines are extremely average - perhaps offer a premium package on the AI with a more varied and international selection. Lastly - the live music was excellent but the ‘80s retro disco ‘ was a DJ playing constant techno remixes - just play the proper 80s music from a playlist - much more enjoyable! We’ve been to the Maldives 8 times and this is the best island - we will definitely return.

Dreamy atolls of tropical islands scattered across the Indian Ocean, the Maldives are a kaleidoscope of colours and earthly pleasures. Get away from it all at LUX South Ari Atoll (formerly LUX Maldives), the only settlement on the postcard-perfect island of Dhidhoofinolhu. Fuss free and laid-back, the resort surprises with pop-up cinema screenings right on the beach, impromptu musical performances and strolls along secret pathways through the lush tropical gardens. Just steps from the thatch-roofed suites and ocean-perched villas, the island's unspoilt beaches are yours to claim. A prime spot for snorkelling and whale-shark spotting, the resort's unblemished lagoon is a diver's dreamworld. Back on land, island street food and fine dining await in the tempting restaurants and bars. In the shade of coconut palms, lounge by the two turquoise pools, luxuriate in the ocean-view spa and surrender to the charms of this castaway idyll.
We couldn’t decide which island to go to for our honeymoon, after plenty of research we picked for Lux and definitely one of the best choices we ever made! This island is absolutely beautiful with plenty to see and do, lots of different events on daily - everyone gets their own host, ours was the lovely Elisa who messages every evening with updates. Friends were telling us 7nights in Maldives is too much (we done 7nights Maldives 6nights Dubai) but honestly I wish we spent longer here and cut Dubai short! A very special mention to Anvil who kept our romantic water villa immaculate everyday, what a lovely friendly hard working gentleman - Thank you very much for looking after us during our stay. The food in all the restaurants was fantastic as was all the staff, absolutely everyone on the island is so friendly and welcoming. We had the most memorable and amazing time here and will definitely be back ❤️ Mr & Mrs Ali

There is nothing to say more apart of this is must visit hotel in Maldives, and we will com back for sure!

We went in search of good diving, good food, good accommodation and a good friendly service for my 60th birthday and got that and much more. The expectation was realised and superseded, we did have a disappointing journey there with Srilankan airways but that was nothing to do with this resort . From the moment we stepped onto this piece of paradise we were made to feel welcome and treated exceptionally by the most friendliest staff I have ever experienced, the staff must be trained to a very good standard, they were exceptional. The only thing I would mention is take insect protection / relief, there are little critters there that fancy a nibble or two and to take precautions is wise, nothing over and above normal though just be prepared. If you are thinking of coming here diving then I cannot recommend this place enough, the PADI web site recommends the island for a reason, the dive centre, staff and dive sites are first class with the house reef providing good snorkling experiences. Excellent island, excellent diving and excellent staff.

Im writing this review in their lounge as I’m awaiting to go back home, because I couldn’t wait to say how GREAT this place was! From start to finish, the experience was truly unmatchable. We came to Constance Halaveli for our honeymoon. With regards to to and from from Male and the resort, they are on top of it. They’ll pick you up at the airport and take you to their nice and elegant lounge while you await your seaplane to take you to the resort. The transition back to Male was equally easy and smooth. They pick up your luggage at your villa and transport it to the sea plane. When they bring you back, you can relax again in their lounge that is stocked with complementary sandwiches, drinks, and snacks. Onto our stay… The experience was A WORK OF ART! The villa is so beautiful and well built. Room service comes twice a day to clean up and always restocks with clean towels, toothbrushes, shower caps, soap, etc. They can do your laundry upon request and return it the same day, neatly folded. There are a total of 3 eating spots on the island. I won’t go into the details of each but the food is very tasty. The breakfast that comes with the booking is SOOOO GOOD! It made us excited to wake up just to go eat. The employees here cater with such kindness and attentiveness. Victoria, Jean Pierre, and Bandara were especially kind to us. They are yet another reason the stay was so pleasant. Amenities including water sports, gym, and tennis court are available for the entire day. The beach is beautiful around the whole island. The water is clear as can be. Lastly, if you’re into snorkeling, you can do it around the inner portion of the water villas, and you get to see so many beautiful and colorful fish ! We snorkeled in Hawaii at Hanauma bay and the fish there didn’t compare to the beauty of the fish present near the Constance Halaveli resort. Truly the best resort we’ve been to.

Among resorts in Maldives, Outrigger Maldives Maafushivaru Resort is the typical island epitomizing all that one dreams of when thinking of the Maldives. Located in a private island in the pristine South Ari Atoll region, approximately 25-minute seaplane flight away from Malé International Airport. With its small island charm, lush vegetation surrounded by powder-white soft sand, and a house reef that a myriad of tropical fish call home, the island is just over 350 metres in length and can be walked in just 10 minutes and a bit! Thatch-roofed villas inspired by local architecture are set amidst verdant gardens or are poised over the turquoise lagoon. Deceivingly modest exteriors hide worldly comforts and indulgences and all villas offer direct access to the beach or to the sea. Designed for couples seeking to rekindle their romance or for families looking to spend quality time together, Outrigger Maldives Maafushivaru Resort offers an experience that elegantly combines a Maldives from times-gone-by with the contemporary luxuries of the present, distinguishing it from other Maldives all inclusive resorts. At Maafushivaru, let us help you make memories that will be forever cherished.
We absolutely loved the 8 days spent at Outrigger Maafushivaru for our honeymoon. It seriously could not have been a lovelier time! The island and resort is beautiful! We had the waterpool villa which was stunning, and definitely worth the extra cost for our honeymoon. We requested a sunset pool villa which was provided, and we will remember the sunsets from here for many many years to come! The island is beautiful, and the resort is small giving it a boutique feeling. Maximum occupancy is 160 guests (80 rooms). Everyone was either on their honeymoon or a couple, no families or children at this time of year which we loved! Note - peak times/christmas likely to have families with children around! The spa (recommend visiting the sauna and steam room before treatments) and the gym are wonderful too. The most scenic view for a workout possible! We enjoyed the dine around all inclusive, opting for the A La Carte restaurants as we prefer these to a buffet. Note - you need to book in advance when you arrive, and not all restaurants are open every day (possibly as it is off peak atm)! Nargiza from reception had helpfully reserved the first few nights for us. We were also extremely pleasantly surprised that the Team had organised a luxurious beach intimate dining experience for our final night! This was a wonderful way to end our honeymoon and again memories for a lifetime. The most outstanding quality is the service at Outrigger Maafushivaru - the entire team are extremely friendly and helpful! We could list absolutely everyone - but a special thanks to Reesham, Chaitanya, Chara, Victoria, Prosop, Chris and Kim... apologies to anyone we cannot remember by name! Everyone went out of their way to make this a special trip for us, constantly asking us if we wanted any drinks or food. The team at the Water Sports Centre (Naim and Raquelle) were so friendly and amazing also! They taught us to kayak - which is something we had never done before!! Snorkelling is great also - we saw many different fishes and baby sharks close to the island! We also had an incident when my wife's gold bracelet fell in the restaurant and got stuck within the floor - and the team at Umi went over and beyond to retrieve it by going in to the water and collecting it from underneath!! We had the most amazing time and would be most fortunate to visit again.
